The podcast feed
Every published episode goes out as audio, through a feed any podcast app reads.
What it does
The render writes the cut’s audio beside the video, levelled to broadcast loudness. A show’s published episodes appear in a public RSS feed with the title, the description, the date, the duration, the cover and the chapter list — the same chapters the video’s description gets.
The Brand kit shows the feed’s address; paste it into a podcast host or app.
The standard behind it
- A podcast app is nobody signed in, so the feed reads through functions that answer only for the show they are asked about and only for episodes that are published and rendered. A storage key never appears in the feed: the audio and the cover are fetched through public routes that hand out a short-lived signed address each time.
- The feed carries the iTunes tags every directory reads and the Podcasting 2.0 chapters tag for the apps that show chapters.
