Sonar

What it does

Pick a screen, a window or a browser tab; a tab shares its sound. The screen fills the frame; your camera sits in a circle or a rounded box in any corner, at any size, or not at all.

Click a spot to zoom in on it — a button, a field, a line of code — and click again to come back.

A Sonar take lands in Sources like any take: heard in full, every word with its time. The director marks the chapters; one click cuts an episode with a scene per chapter, the take's own sound, its words as the line.

On a live, Share my screen sends it into the room; the broadcast lays it out large with the faces beside it.

The standard behind it

• The recording is the screen at its own size, never cropped or stretched, capped at 1920 wide because that is what the platforms take.
• A take of any length is heard window by window, each under a minute, so a forty-minute webinar is transcribed like a forty-second take.
• A chapter names a moment that exists: every mark the director gives is checked against the transcript before it is kept.
• A cursor highlight needs the cursor's position over other windows, which a browser cannot read. We do not fake it; the cursor stays in the capture as it is.
