History and rollback
Every edit is a version, and going back to one that was rendered brings its video with it.
What it does
Every save, every banner, every approval is a point you can return to.
Restoring puts that state back as the current one. It does not delete what came after — going back is itself a version, so going forward again is the same operation.
The standard behind it
- A creator who can go back will experiment. One who cannot will be careful, and careful is slower and worse.
- History is append-only. A record that can be edited or tidied is one nobody can lean on, and "I can always go back" has to be true before anybody takes the risk that makes it worth having.
- Renders are cached on a fingerprint of the configuration, so returning to something you rendered before brings the finished video back at no cost. Versions that have one say so — because a rollback to a configuration whose last render failed starts a fresh one, and "instant" should not be promised of it.
